Christmas came early for the Rooney clan when Wayne and Coleen blew a whopping £50,000 for them all to see Ricky Hatton’s title fight in Las Vegas… even though Roo had to stay at home.

The pair stunned 30 close family and friends with a four-day no-expenses-spared trip to the desert city to see Wayne’s pal Ricky in his big fight.

Leading the roars of support for Ricky’s clash with America’s Floyd “The Money” Mayweather, Wayne’s fiancee Coleen and her gang joined an estimated 25,000 British boxing fans who have flown 6,000 miles to back Ricky “The Hitman”.

But while his parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and pals were on a booze and gambling bender at his expense, Wayne was at home in Manchester playing in Man Utd’s 4-1 win over Derby.

The Rooney group flew into Vegas from Manchester on Thursday, checking into the MGM Grand and the five-star £300-a-night Wynn Hotel, where Coleen and Roo stayed on holiday this summer.

As the bars and hotel lobbies buzzed with the excitement of the biggest fight of the decade, they hit black-jack tables and roulette wheels to begin racking-up a five-figure bill - equal to Wayne’s weekly pay packet.

What should a girl do to soothe her nerves while her boyfriend prepares for the biggest boxing match of his life?

Go shopping, of course. And if your best friend is No1 WAG Coleen McLoughlin, who knows a thing or two about retail therapy, then so much the better.

Jennifer Dooley, 26, the girlfriend of British boxer Ricky Hatton, met up with Coleen, fiancee of England footballer Wayne Rooney, in Las Vegas ahead of today’s “fight of the decade”.

“Coleen is great chums with Jennifer. She and Wayne have known Ricky and Jennifer for years,” said a family friend.

Spice Girl Geri Halliwell and Coleen McLoughlin are set to battle it out - in the book charts.

The pair are both releasing novels early next year.

Ginger, 35, is working on 2 kids’ books, entitled Eugenia and Lavender.

And Coleen, 21, is also turning her hand to fiction for children.

Under the pen name Coleen Style Queen, the WAG will be scribbling her own tome.

‘It will centre on a fictional character inspired by McLoughlin’s childhood who faces fashion challenges along with the dilemmas posed by school, family, friends and boys,’ publishers HarperCollins tells The Guardian’s G2. A spokesman for Coleen said: “The children’s books are part of a deal which will go over several years.”

Wayne Rooney has put his money where his fiancee’s mouth is and bought parachute lessons for Coleen McLoughlin after the celebrated WAG boasted she has the bottle to jump out of a plane.

The England and Man United ace has bought Coleen six parachuting lessons as part of a sky-diving course in the New Year after betting her she wouldn’t have the nerve.

A source told the Sun: “Wayne has been thinking about a good present for Coleen’s Christmas for a while. She was having a laugh, boasting about how brave she is - and he was winding her up, saying she was a chicken at heart.

Wayne Rooney’s sportsman’s diet may be kicked into touch - after fiancee Coleen McLoughlin bought 28 bags of crisps.

The WAG ran up a £45.29 bill purely on junk food snacks - apart from a can of sweetcorn.

Coleen, 21, snapped up 12 packets of McCoy’s crisps, six cheese and onion, six bags of Quavers and two packs each of Walker’s roast chicken and prawn cocktail.

She also bought five fudge bars, two Rustlers chicken sandwiches, a pasty, Dairylea lunchables, a Bird’s Eye chicken and beef dinner, mineral water, a multi-pack of Red Bull - and a copy of Britain’s No1 The Sun.

Last night a customer at the Co-op store near her home in Prestbury, Cheshire, said: “I hope it’s not her weekly shop for Wayne because it didn’t seem like the ideal diet for a top sportsman.

“There wasn’t any fruit or fresh veg in sight. Her four bags were crammed with snacks.”

Coleen McLoughlin has nominated her top outfit of 2007: a long brown dress.

While fellow WAGS love to flash the flesh, Wayne Rooney’s fiancée claims she loves this figure-hiding frock - and her designer accessories.

‘The one that stands out for me this year is the long dress I wore for the races by Liverpool designer Kirsty Doyle,’ she says.

‘I added a fantastic Temperley belt.’

There may be something very Sienna Miller about the outfit but 21-year-old Coleen insists she doesn’t steal other fashionistas’ style.

‘I don’t think you should copy someone’s style from head to toe,’ she tells Hello!

Coleen also reveals that soon-to-be-hubbie Wayne is moving up in the style stakes.

‘He wears a lot of Hugo Boss,’ she confides, ‘and has recently started wearing Christian Dior.’

Coleen McLoughlin is to fly to New York twice in the space of just 8 days for a couple of bumper Christmas shopping sprees.

Coleen, 21, will jet out this Thursday with mum Colette.

Although she’ll be back 2 days later, Coleen will be making another visit Stateside the following Thursday with her parents and 2 brothers.

‘Coleen is going to go Christmas crackers in the shops, and it’s perfect because the pound is strong against the dollar,’ a source tells The Sun.
