With their wealth, Wayne Rooney and Coleen McLoughlin might not need freebies but that’s not stopped Richard Branson offering them his private Caribbean island for free for their honeymoon next year. The couple have been offered a week on the island of Necker - which usually costs £23,000 a night to rent - for after their nuptials next June. A source close to the couple told the Sunday Mirror: “Necker has just about every conceivable luxury and there will be no other guests there, apart from the staff who will tend to their every need.”
“Richard likes to offer the island to celebrities and he knows that Wayne and Coleen will really enjoy it there. He’s happy to let them use it for free.” The 74-acre island includes two beaches, swimming pools, tennis courts and water sports facilities as well as the luxury villa where they will stay. Childhood sweethearts Coleen and Wayne are currently looking for a location for the wedding itself: they are said to be considering castles in Italy and the south of France in order to retain a degree of privacy for the event.
