When Coleen McLoughlin went for a wedding dress fitting, she took a staggering 11 hours to make sure everything was perfect. A stream of friends and family came and went during the all-day fitting of her £100,000 Marchesa creation at a five-star hotel suite in London this week. Miss McLoughlin, her mother, sister, friends, the New York based dressmaker Georgina Chapman who made the gown, and copious drivers and security guards, filled a suite at the Baglioni Hotel in Kensington from dawn until after dark on Tuesday. Champagne was supped, tea was taken and top secret plans for the £3 million summer wedding were discussed by the gaggle before Miss McLoughlin flew to Paris yesterday morning to watch her fiance play for England.
After all the alterations had been noted, four bodyguards carried the ivory dress with its 25ft train in two giant coffin-shaped boxes to a waiting chauffeur-driven people carrier. The security men were on hand to ensure no-one followed the cavalcade of cars to its final destination - the Chelsea HQ of Miss Chapman’s Marchesa dress design company. The high level of secrecy is believed to have been demanded by OK! magazine with whom Miss McLoughlin has a £2.5 million deal for exclusive rights to the wedding. Source: Daily Mail |
